Course 6-14 is a joint interdisciplinary major offered by MIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and the Department of Economics, administered within the MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing. The program builds a portfolio of skills in economics, computing, and data science, leveraging overlap in game theory, mathematical modeling, and data analytics. The curriculum includes core subjects in programming, algorithms, microeconomic theory, and econometrics, complemented by electives in machine learning, optimization, applied econometrics, and theory. It prepares students for graduate study in either discipline and careers across technology, consulting, finance, and data-driven policy domains.
