MIT’s SB in Economics (Course 14-1) provides unusually strong undergraduate training that combines rigorous technical economics with opportunities to explore specialized topics and conduct independent research. The program’s aims are to ground students in economic theory and data analysis, develop in-depth knowledge of particular economic issues through upper-level electives, and build capabilities for independent research via CI-M subjects and a senior thesis requirement.
