The Master of Arts in Asian American Studies (4+1) at UCI is a unique accelerated graduate program allowing UCI undergraduates to earn both a B.A. and an M.A. in a total of five years. The program focuses on interdisciplinary theories and methods for social justice-driven research and direct engagement with Asian American communities locally, nationally, and globally. Students complete graduate-level coursework during their senior undergraduate year and finalize M.A. requirements (including a thesis, creative project, or comprehensive exam) in one additional year.
