The Bachelor of Arts in Language Science at the University of California, Irvine provides an interdisciplinary foundation in the scientific study of language. Students are exposed to mental representations of language, language development and use, and its biological basis. The curriculum combines core training in linguistics, advanced study in natural or formal languages, and coursework in related fields such as neuroscience, psychology, logic, computer science, anthropology, and hearing and speech sciences.
