The Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of California, Irvine School of Humanities examines the complex relationships among gender, sexuality, race, class, and other social categories, combining feminist, queer, and interdisciplinary approaches. Students learn to analyze how gender and sexuality shape societies and cultures through core courses (such as Gender and Feminism in Everyday Life, Introduction to Queer Studies, Gender and Power, and Gender and Popular Culture), advanced seminars, and electives. The program prepares students for graduate study or diverse careers in law, medicine, education, social work, policy, and advocacy, and emphasizes skills in research, critical analysis, and communication.
