The MA in East Asian Languages and Cultures at the College of Humanities & Fine Arts, University of Massachusetts Amherst, offers interdisciplinary graduate training in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages, as well as in the literature, history, culture, linguistics, and pedagogy of East Asia. The program is designed to cultivate linguistic proficiency, analytical skills, cultural literacy, and prepares graduates for careers in academia, translation, teaching, business, journalism, government, and beyond. Students engage actively with faculty who cover a broad spectrum of research areas and benefit from participation in cultural and academic events, structured learning, and practical experience.
