UMass Amherst's Bachelor of Arts in Judaic Studies explores the history and cultures of the Jewish people from antiquity to the present. Students take introductory and upper-level courses in subjects such as Hebrew language, Yiddish, Jewish history, Israel studies, philosophy, politics, law, and film. Required courses include JUDAIC 101 (The Jewish Experience I: Ancient to Medieval), JUDAIC 102 (The Jewish Experience II: Medieval to Modern), two years of Hebrew language, six upper-division Judaic Studies courses, a Junior Year Writing requirement, and an Integrative Experience Seminar.
