UMass Amherst's Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program prepares students for a broad range of technology-driven careers, including the design of communications systems, renewable energy, microelectronic circuits, medical devices, and smart city infrastructure. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, computation, circuits, electromagnetism, computer programming, and signal processing. Students can tailor the degree to areas such as communication systems, microelectronic fabrication, and microwave engineering. The program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Real-world experience is emphasized through hands-on projects in the M5 makerspace and a senior design project in the final year.
