Boston University's LLM in Banking & Financial Law is the only US financial services LLM with a standalone faculty and curriculum. Since 1984, the program has specialized in regulatory, transactional, and compliance issues across banking, securities, and general financial services law. Students can choose concentrations such as The Business of Banking, Compliance Management, Financial Services Transactions, Lending & Credit Transactions, or Securities Transactions. The curriculum covers both regulatory frameworks (including Dodd-Frank, Basel III), transactional law, and contemporary issues in financial services. Optional internships and networking with practitioners are available. Graduates go on to influential positions in banks, law firms, regulatory authorities, and global financial institutions. The program is available both residentially in Boston and fully online, with no distinction on the diploma.
