The MFA in Sculpture at Boston University's College of Fine Arts is a two-year, studio-intensive graduate program designed to deepen artistic practice and critical engagement. Students are encouraged to explore personal expression and innovation through diverse media and conceptual approaches, working in a supportive environment that emphasizes materiality, process, and contemporary discourse. The curriculum combines rigorous individual studio production with seminars, lectures, research, and collaborative projects. Students participate in regular reviews with faculty and visiting critics. The program culminates in a public thesis exhibition, where each graduate presents a body of work and a written thesis statement, reflecting on their creative development and future directions as professional artists. The 2025 thesis exhibition is held in BU's Stone Gallery, highlighting innovative works across a wide range of sculptural practices.
