The Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies (Boston University) is an interdisciplinary program focusing on East Asia and South Asia, with attention also given to Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Rim. The curriculum is flexible and allows students to tailor their studies towards specific countries or transnational issues such as cultural flows, security, or economic development. The program requires a broad exposure to Asian cultures, societies, histories, and languages, including fifth-term proficiency in an Asian language. Students must complete a combination of core and principal courses (eleven in total), distributed between the humanities and social sciences, plus advanced language study. Graduates are prepared for careers in government, NGOs, business, and graduate study.
