The Biomedical Engineering BEng at The University of Sheffield offers a strong engineering foundation, preparing students to innovate and improve medical technology. Students choose among four specialisms—Biomedical Engineering, Medical Devices and Systems, Biomaterials Science and Tissue Engineering, and Biomanufacturing—from the second year onwards. The program combines hands-on experiential learning, advanced biomedical solution design, state-of-the-art laboratory access, and a final-year individual project with an academic expert. Accredited by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the course meets the requirements for Incorporated Engineer and partially for Chartered Engineer status, supporting graduates towards a wide array of healthcare engineering careers.
