The BA Applied Social Sciences at the University of Sheffield equips students to tackle major societal issues such as inequality, injustice, and health by developing high-level research skills in both quantitative and qualitative methods. Students learn to critically analyse societal challenges and communicate findings for impact in various sectors. In the first year, students study core social science concepts, then specialise in one area in their final year from a choice including Criminology, Sociology, Human Geography, Politics, Social Policy, and Education. The programme offers extensive opportunities for work experience, placements, and research with external partners, and is taught by leading scholars in social sciences.
