The Barnard–Columbia 4+1 program allows qualified Barnard undergraduate students to earn a Bachelor’s degree at Barnard College and a Master of Science (MS) from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) at Columbia University in five years. Students can major in Economics and Mathematics at Barnard and, upon meeting prerequisite and GPA requirements, can apply in their junior year for admission to the Columbia master's program in one of five tracks: Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Financial Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, or Business Analytics. The master's component requires either 30 or 36 credits (depending on the track), with some credits taken during the Barnard senior year. The program focuses on equipping students for advanced analytic and quantitative roles in industry, consulting, or further research, with coursework covering optimization, data science, stochastic modeling, and applied economics.
