This dual degree program, starting Fall 2025, allows students to earn both a Master of Science in Climate and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from the Columbia Climate School and GSAPP. The program integrates climate science and urban design to prepare leaders for sustainable and climate-resilient cities. The curriculum combines three semesters at GSAPP (urban design studios, design theory, site research) and two semesters at the Climate School (climate systems, risk, adaptation), for a total of 77 credits completed in under two years. Graduates are equipped for careers at the intersection of climate adaptation, sustainable design, urban policy, and environmental innovation. Students reside in one school per semester and may begin in either school each fall.
