The B.A. in Statistics at Columbia University's School of General Studies provides students, including non-traditional and returning students, with rigorous training in probability, statistical theory, and hands-on methods of data analysis. The program is designed to prepare graduates for graduate study or professional work in statistics and related fields, such as data science, public health, economics, finance, and applied social sciences. Students follow a curriculum that includes calculus, linear algebra, applied computing, and advanced statistical theory, alongside electives tailored to quantitative and applied interdisciplinary interests. The General Studies program is fully integrated with Columbia College, and GS students receive the same degree and instruction.
