The UCSC Master of Science in Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an industry-focused professional program offered through the Baskin School of Engineering at the UCSC Silicon Valley campus in Santa Clara. The curriculum combines intensive coursework in natural language processing, deep learning, data science, machine learning, and linguistics, developed and delivered in close collaboration with senior industry scientists from Silicon Valley. Students complete a 59-credit curriculum that includes core NLP, machine learning, and elective courses, plus a two-quarter capstone team project. The program is designed for those with a strong background in computer science. About 90% of graduates find employment in NLP or related fields within six months.
