Brown University's two-year, on-campus master's in Biomedical Engineering equips students with multidisciplinary expertise at the intersection of engineering, biology, and medicine. The flexible curriculum allows for specialization in areas such as tissue engineering/regenerative medicine, neuroengineering/imaging, biomaterials/nanotechnology, and biomechanics. The Sc.M. degree includes coursework and a thesis (research or design track), while the M.Eng. option is coursework only. Students have opportunities for hands-on research, clinical experience at Brown-affiliated hospitals, and internships with companies in the biomedical technology sector. Graduates emerge equipped to develop emerging science into advanced biomedical technologies and therapies.
