The A.B. in International and Public Affairs (IAPA) at Brown University's Thomas J. Watson Jr. School of International and Public Affairs is a multidisciplinary undergraduate program that examines domestic and global challenges through economic, political, and social change and public policy. Students gain analytical, research, and writing skills to address complex issues as global citizens. The curriculum includes 11 required courses: a gateway lecture, foundational track course, junior and senior seminars or capstone/thesis options, electives, and methodology requirements, with an option to substitute language instruction for one methodology course. The program embraces a diverse and interdisciplinary approach, leveraging Brown’s tradition of academic collaboration and the Watson School's expanded academic and research strengths. Over 300 students are currently enrolled in IAPA, supported by a broad faculty from across the university.
