Brown University's Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) is a flexible undergraduate degree granted by The College at Brown. Students craft their own educational paths under an Open Curriculum system, choosing a primary field of study ('concentration') in areas such as the arts, humanities, social sciences, or interdisciplinary studies. There are no general education or core requirements, giving students major freedom to explore their interests. Graduation requires at least 30 course credits, with a minimum of 15 taken at Brown. The program fosters intellectual and personal growth by encouraging close faculty-student engagement and self-directed study.
