The MSc Learning Disabilities Nursing (Pre-registration) at Coventry University provides graduates from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to become qualified learning disabilities nurses in two years. The program blends theoretical education with 50% practice-based clinical placements across various settings. Students develop advanced skills in communication, health assessment, equality, and person-centred care for individuals with learning disabilities, including those with profound and multiple disabilities. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as a learning disabilities nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, leadership, and multi-disciplinary professional practice, preparing graduates for diverse and challenging healthcare environments.
