Coventry University's BSc (Hons) Geography and Natural Hazards program, offered under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing, equips students with in-depth understanding of natural hazards such as volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires, and flooding. It combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills in hazard assessment and mitigation, leveraging hands-on field experiences and industry-standard GIS software (ArcGIS, ENVI). Fieldwork is embedded at all levels with mandatory international field trips at no extra cost. The program is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and has a strong emphasis on employability, offering options such as a placement year or study abroad. Students will also receive GIS training certification and gain extensive quantitative analytical skills through laboratory and simulation center work.
