Coventry University's Food Science BSc (Hons) is an undergraduate program offered within the School of Health and Care (Faculty of Health and Life Sciences). The curriculum is structured to provide a strong scientific and practical foundation in food science, including food production, product design, food analysis, food safety, and public health implications. The course begins with a common first year shared with related subjects, covering physiology, biochemistry, food law, policy, and practical skills. Subsequent years offer specialization in areas such as nutrition across the lifespan, food microbiology, processing technology, properties of food materials, and opportunities for hands-on learning. Students may opt for a work placement between years 2 and 3. Graduates are prepared for careers in food manufacturing, product development, quality assurance, safety, or public health.
