The Master of Urban and Cultural Heritage is a unique, cross-disciplinary and industry-oriented program at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, University of Melbourne. The program covers the interpretation, management, and conservation of urban and cultural heritage and addresses challenges such as rapid urbanization, economic and environmental sustainability, and social change. With a global perspective, particularly focusing on Australia and the Asia-Pacific, students explore contemporary and theoretical heritage policy, digital technologies in heritage, heritage significance in cross-cultural contexts, and the socio-economic impact of cultural heritage. Core strengths include critical research and presentation skills, analysis and management of heritage sites, and options for research projects or industry internships. The curriculum is flexible, offering specialist electives and opportunities to customize your pathway. Exit awards include a Specialist Certificate and a Graduate Certificate in Urban and Cultural Heritage.
