The Bachelor of Aviation (Flying) at UNSW Faculty of Science prepares students for careers as professional pilots with up to 200 hours of flight training and 30 hours of simulator training, covering theory and practical skills needed for commercial pilot licensing including multi-engine and instrument ratings. The program is taught half at Kensington Campus and half at the Bankstown Flying Operations Unit (FOU), utilizing UNSW's dedicated aircraft and simulators. The curriculum is designed in collaboration with industry partners, providing real-world aviation experience and mentorship. Graduates are well-equipped for pilot roles with both regional and major airlines, as well as broader aviation industry positions.
