The MASIA program at Georgetown University’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (housed in the Walsh School of Foreign Service) prepares students with rigorous training in the study of Asia, blending area studies with functional training in subjects like politics, economics, and culture. The 36-credit program (12 courses) includes core courses, concentration courses, electives, and language requirements. Students will engage deeply with the region through coursework, research, and possible fieldwork, culminating in either a thesis or additional electives. The program offers access to DC-based internships, a vibrant campus life, and participation in lectures and events with Asia experts, thereby equipping graduates for careers in academia, government, policy, business, and non-profits, or as a bridge to PhD study.
