The Master of Science in Global Health at Georgetown University (School of Health) is an interdisciplinary, development-oriented graduate program that prepares students for careers in global health, development organizations, research institutions, NGOs, multilateral/bilateral agencies, and government. The curriculum combines rigorous coursework in core public health areas (biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, qualitative research methods, policy, and systems) with elective concentrations in focus areas such as disease prevention, health financing, urban health, and global governance. A hallmark is the mandatory 14-week international field research module where students conduct research in a low- or middle-income country. The program culminates in a scholarly paper. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, professional exposure in Washington D.C., and the development of skills for evidence-based research and program implementation.
