Georgetown University's Bachelor of Science in Human Science is a rigorous four-year undergraduate program offered through the School of Health. This program focuses on providing students a strong scientific background applied to human health, combining biological, chemical, quantitative, and health sciences. Distinct from traditional biology majors, Human Science integrates translational science—emphasizing applying scientific discoveries to health care and community wellbeing. Students engage in extensive classroom and laboratory experiences, including hands-on research in facilities like the Discovery Center and internship opportunities in health-related settings. The curriculum includes courses in human biology, chemistry, genetics, pathophysiology, molecular cell biology, statistics, and research communication. Exceptional undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.5+ may pursue an accelerated pathway to earn both the BS and MS degrees within five years. Graduates often proceed to health-related professional and graduate studies, or enter fields such as biotechnology, health communication, and consulting.
