The Master of Science in Data and Computer Science at Heidelberg University's Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science is a consecutive, research-oriented program that allows students to deepen their knowledge in theoretical and applied computer science. The curriculum covers the planning, modeling, design, and implementation of complex software and hardware systems, with opportunities to specialize in areas such as information systems engineering, data analysis, distributed systems, and methods for modelling and simulation. The program is characterized by its flexibility and its strong interdisciplinary ties, especially through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR). The instruction language is English, and the program can be completed fully in English. Graduates are equipped to independently plan, design, and evaluate computing systems and software projects, with advanced skills in one or more areas of specialization.
