The Master’s program at the Faculty of Modern Languages, Heidelberg University, provides advanced, research-oriented training in German linguistics, modern German literature, and medieval and early modern language and literature. It emphasizes German language and literature from their beginnings to the present in sociocultural and theoretical contexts. The program allows for specialization in one of three areas: German Linguistics (with a focus on 'spoken knowledge'), Modern German Literature (from Humanism to present), or Medieval and Early Modern Language and Literature (8th to 18th century). The curriculum is highly interdisciplinary and international, with options to pursue minors and participate in double degree arrangements.
