The Master of Arts in Latin American and Hemispheric Studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, is a multidisciplinary graduate degree designed for students seeking advanced training on Latin America and the Caribbean from perspectives of international affairs, development, politics, migration, security, and economics. The program draws on courses in political science, economics, history, geography, and additional social sciences, offering thematic depth in regional integration, geopolitics, democracy, and U.S.-Latin America relations. Coursework includes core seminars, electives spanning regional and thematic issues, and the possibility for specialized research. As of 2025, the Elliott School is not currently offering new admission to this M.A. program; however, students already enrolled are supported through completion.
