The MPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies is a one‑year master’s degree delivered by the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (School of the Humanities and Social Sciences), offering taught and research training leading to a substantial dissertation. Pathways include Modern Middle Eastern Studies (Arabic, Hebrew or Persian primary sources) and Classical Islamic History and Culture (Arabic or Persian primary sources), as well as East Asian options such as Chinese Studies and Korean Studies.
