The MPhil in Education at the University of Cambridge (Faculty of Education, within the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences) is a research-oriented master’s that provides advanced training in educational research methods and specialist knowledge within themed pathways. Core aims include training in appropriate research methods, critical engagement with contemporary debates in education, and developing capacity for research-informed professional reflection and judgement. Each pathway structures content via interrelated modules and culminates in independent research and a dissertation. Some previously offered routes (e.g., Education, Globalisation and International Development) were closed for new applications in the current cycle, while others (e.g., Education Policy, Leadership and Improvement) indicate that applications are no longer being accepted for 2025 entry.
