The Master of Science in Brewing and Beverage Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) School of Life Sciences is a specialized graduate program located at the Weihenstephan Campus. The curriculum combines engineering sciences, process engineering, product development, and technological processes for the industrial production of beer and beverages. Students develop expertise in process automation, fermentation technologies, microbiology, analytical methods, production optimization, and resource planning, alongside essential economics and law modules. Emphasis is placed on both tradition and innovation, scientific brewing, beverage technology, and practical skills including product development internships. A flexible elective system allows students to individualize their learning toward R&D, production, or supply planning. The teaching language is German. Graduates are qualified for roles in industry R&D, plant operation, product development, process design, and management in brewing and beverage industries.
