The Master of Science in Ecological Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) School of Life Sciences trains students to address global challenges concerning ecosystem preservation and sustainable land use. The program is highly interdisciplinary, combining aspects of biology, ecology, ecosystem sciences, geography, land use, environmental planning, and management. Students learn to understand and resolve conflicts between competing land uses, design sustainable strategies for resource use (including agriculture and forestry), and develop solutions for environmental problems at the interface of society, environment, and technology. Graduates become experts in ecosystem management, able to support decision-making in environmental agencies, business, and research.
