The Master of Bioinformatics program at The University of Queensland (UQ) equips students with interdisciplinary expertise needed for careers in bioinformatics, combining biology, computing, and statistical techniques. The program is designed for graduates in biological sciences, computing, mathematics, or related fields, who wish to develop advanced practical and research skills in bioinformatics. Students select from over 20 courses, covering core topics such as genomics, computational statistics, and software engineering, with the flexibility to tailor to their interest. All students complete at least one semester of research immersion, either on campus or in an industry placement. Graduates can pursue careers as bioinformaticians, data scientists, biostatisticians, and technical consultants across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and research sectors.
