The Bachelor of Wildlife Science at The University of Queensland is designed to provide students with deep scientific knowledge and practical skills related to wildlife anatomy, physiology, captive breeding, nutrition, health, husbandry, and management. The program emphasizes hands-on experience through access to leading animal research facilities, fieldwork, and industry placements in zoos, wildlife parks, sanctuaries, conservation organizations, and government agencies. Students are taught by leading wildlife scientists and undertake specialized courses including Animal Behaviour, Wildlife Management, Ecology, and Human-Wildlife Interactions. The main teaching location is UQ's Gatton campus. Graduates are prepared for roles such as wildlife scientist, biologist, conservation officer, ranger, and animal welfare manager.
