The M.A. in Theology and Ministry at Boston College’s Clough School of Theology & Ministry integrates intensive theological study, pastoral practice, spiritual formation, and supervised ministry. The program is available in both in-person and hybrid (online and summer on-campus) formats, with flexible 36-credit (hybrid) and 48-credit (comprehensive) tracks. Students benefit from small group seminars, customized formation plans, supervised internships, and a capstone project or thesis that applies academic learning to ministerial or pastoral contexts. Optional concentrations and dual-degree opportunities permit further specialization, such as pairing with mental health counseling, business, education, or social work. Financial support and spiritual direction are available to all admitted students. Graduates are prepared for diverse careers including ministry, education, pastoral care, nonprofit leadership, and further academic study.
