Boston College’s Master of Social Work (MSW) Clinical Social Work program offers a rigorous curriculum, hands-on field education, and the ability to customize study through specialized fields and electives. The program prepares students to integrate evidence-based and culturally sensitive interventions in clinical practice, becoming proficient in assessment, diagnostic classification, and therapeutic skill development. Field placements occur two to three days per week, providing robust experiential learning opportunities in schools, nonprofits, hospitals, and other agencies. All students choose between the clinical or macro track, with the clinical program focused on direct practice with individuals, families, and groups. Advanced Standing and part-time options are available for eligible students who hold a CSWE-accredited bachelor’s degree in social work.
