The Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine offers an accredited advanced education/residency program in Dental Public Health that may be combined with the CEPH-accredited Master of Public Health (MPH). Candidates without a prior MPH typically complete a two-year full-time pathway that integrates MPH coursework during the first year and Dental Public Health residency activities during the second. The program’s curriculum is tailored to each candidate’s career goals and includes didactic training (covering ABDPH competencies such as population health, cultural competency, social determinants, and health literacy) and practical field experiences in research, public health administration, and/or teaching. Successful completion qualifies graduates to sit for the American Board for Dental Public Health (ABDPH) examination. The residency is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and administered by experienced faculty.
