The Specialization in Data Analytics is an official track within the Master of Science in Computer Science at EPFL’s School of Computer and Communication Sciences (IC). Starting from Autumn 2025, this specialization provides theoretical foundations and practical tools for extracting insights from complex, large-scale data. Students gain expertise in areas such as machine learning, optimization, neural networks, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, large-scale data science, and data visualization. The specialization is suitable for students aspiring to careers in AI research, machine learning engineering, data science, or doctoral studies. Students complete at least 30 ECTS credits within the specialization topic, as part of their 120 ECTS master's degree. A mandatory industry internship and a capstone Master’s project are required components.
