The Wireless Communications specialization at the School of Computer and Communication Sciences, EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), prepares students to address the fundamental tradeoffs and challenges in designing modern wireless communication systems. The specialization focuses on equipping students to understand wireless signal propagation, network architectures, protocols, and algorithms pertinent to wireless connectivity, mobile and ubiquitous communication, and the future of connected devices (e.g., Internet of Things). The curriculum develops strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills aimed at both state-of-the-art and emerging topics in the field. Graduates typically pursue careers in research, industry, telecommunications, and next-generation wireless technology development. This specialization is completed as part of the EPFL Master's programs in Computer Science or Communication Systems, requiring at least 30 ECTS in designated courses.
