The Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering at EPFL (School of Engineering, STI) provides a solid foundation in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, alongside specialized and multidisciplinary knowledge of materials. Students study the structure, properties, and processing of various material types (metals, ceramics, polymers, composites), and learn about analytical and characterization methods. The program combines lectures with practical work and research projects. In the last year, each student carries out a laboratory research project, providing early hands-on research experience. The multidisciplinary approach prepares graduates for broad opportunities in advanced technology sectors and makes graduates eligible for Master's programs.
