The EPFL Bachelor of Science in Architecture provides foundational and applied training through an integrated approach combining design workshops, theoretical courses, and technical disciplines. Students develop architectural projects in studio workshops while taking classes in architectural history and theory, city and land, building techniques, modeling, geometry, and physics. The program emphasizes hands-on experience, personal workspace, and the opportunity to use specialized tools and attend lectures on cutting-edge topics. Study visits and workshops, as well as a mandatory one-year professional internship between Bachelor and Master’s levels, prepare students for advanced studies or practice. Teaching operates through a continual dialogue between practice and theory within a transdisciplinary environment alongside civil and environmental engineers.
