The Development and Economic Policy program at the University of Zurich is offered as a minor (30 ECTS credits) that can be combined with Master's major programs such as Economics, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, and others. Focusing on the interplay between the state and the economy, it covers when and how the state should intervene, regulation, economic stability, growth, provision of public goods, competition, and redistributive justice. The curriculum also emphasizes empirical testing of economic policy measures and offers specialization in areas like monetary or fiscal policy. Graduates gain knowledge relevant for careers in central banks, economic media, and international organizations.
