The Master of New Media & Digital Culture at Utrecht University, Faculty of Humanities, is a one-year academic program that trains students to analyze and engage with digital media transformations in society, politics, and culture. Students develop advanced research skills, critically investigate digital technologies, and gain practical experience, including a research internship. The curriculum covers platforms, AI/algorithmic culture, games & play, urban/mobile media, and digital infrastructures. Graduates are prepared for roles such as policy advisor, media creator, researcher, or educator. The program is taught in English and features a strong practical orientation and deep engagement with current media trends and debates.
