The Master’s in Youth, Education and Society at Utrecht University, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, is an interdisciplinary one-year English-taught program. It focuses on understanding and addressing the complex social challenges facing children, youth, their guardians, and educators. The curriculum combines pedagogy with perspectives from sociology, psychology, education, and anthropology, training students to analyse and innovate in pedagogical policy and practice, both nationally and internationally. The program offers three tracks: Youth Policy: Education and Prevention (YEP), Pedagogy and International Development (PID), and Education for Inclusive Societies (EFIS). It includes an internship, the opportunity to participate in real-world projects, and thesis research, all tailored to a chosen track. Graduates are prepared for roles in the development and analysis of pedagogical policies, providing support and advice on childrearing, interdisciplinary research, and policy analysis in a variety of organisational and governmental settings.
