The Bachelor of Science in Global Sustainability Science at Utrecht University educates students to address complex sustainability challenges, such as climate change, resource distribution, and sustainable development, from multidisciplinary natural and social science perspectives. The programme integrates core sustainability science courses with an international and project-oriented environment. In the first year, students build a broad foundation before selecting one of five tracks: Water, Climate & Ecosystems; Energy & Resources; Sustainable & Healthy Food; Governance & Societal Transformation; and Business & Innovation. The curriculum combines coursework, electives, and hands-on project-based learning, drawing closely on the research expertise of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. Graduates are equipped for international careers in sustainability consulting, policy, research, non-profit, corporate, and governmental roles or can pursue Master's studies in related fields.
