The two-year MSc Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam is a research-based programme for students wishing to deepen their understanding and expertise in mathematics. The programme is structured around four specialist tracks: Algebra and Geometry; Analysis and Dynamical Systems; Discrete Mathematics and Quantum Information; and Stochastics. Students can tailor their curriculum by selecting from a wide array of advanced courses, both within their chosen specialisation and across mathematical fields, as well as from related disciplines such as Physics, Econometrics, Logic, and Quantum Computer Science. The curriculum includes specialisation courses, elective courses, master seminars, and a substantial MSc research project. The programme is closely linked with leading research institutions (KdVI, CWI, QuSoft), which offers students extensive research opportunities and co-supervision. The teaching mode is on-campus, in English.
