The BSc Physics and Astronomy at the University of Amsterdam is a rigorous, multi-disciplinary undergraduate program jointly offered with Vrije Universiteit. It provides foundational knowledge in physics and astronomy, covering topics from quantum mechanics and statistical physics to cosmology and astrophysics. The teaching staff includes researchers from the Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy and the Institute of Physics. Students experience a blend of compulsory core courses and electives, including honours options, and can participate in research projects—recent examples focus on radio astronomy, stellar phenomena, and observational/theoretical astrophysics. The program is taught mainly in Dutch, with select courses and tracks in English. Graduates are well prepared for master's studies (including UvA's master's in Astronomy & Astrophysics) or technical roles in research and industry.
